Hasil pokok buah2an

dah lama jugak simpan gambar2 nie, ambik dari masa buah2 semua kecik sampai la masa masak. dah tengah layan diri sebab tengah ganti puasa nie, sibukkan diri meng"post" gambar2 yang ada.

nak cerita pasal pokok2 buah kat belakang rumah. pokok ceri dan buah2nye. masam yang amat dan kelat lidah bila makan!!! selain burung2 kerjakan, kitaorg kasi jiran belakang rumah ambik buat pie ceri. chot tak suka ceri jadik win tak la cuba bagaikan jadik hidangan petang.

nie buah "plum"... pertama kali kitaorg jumpa jadik kitaorg jakun sikit (ok, jakun banyak!!). sebab tak tau, mula2 win agak nie buah "pear" tapi tak lama kemudian, buah2 nie tukar warna. sedap jugak, manis... petang karang nak pi petik...

buah epal. dari kecik sampai besar. masam jadik win guna dalam masakan. cuba buat inti pie / tart... ok la sedap (ye lah, dah campur gula & jem... mana tak jadik sedap dok??) bila buah dah cukup besar, kulitnye menggerutu sikit. sila tengok reaksi muka chot petik buah tak cun : )

Last of the Tiles

we've been tiling our kitchen backsplash since forever it seems... took us a very very long time. so last weekend when chot came to the last piece of tile, i was standing by to snap up pics of the momentous event.

it was painstaking for him because he had to cut a section of it out and this made the tile very fragile. so fragile in fact it broke twice...

but in the end he was victorious... : )

i know we're not finished yet, we have the grouting to do (when is that going to be, i can't say) but this is the kitchen so far...

dent + car

the story behind this...

chot went to pick up the car from the shop. it was send in for fuel flush of sorts and change some belt thing and (the only thing i've been complaining about)... the squealing noise the car's been making.

he came home and began telling that the car was still making the noise, so he took it to another place. and at this place, our car acquired a dent. the guy that worked there accidentally rammed our car into a chevy aveo...

he was realllyy sorry about it (by right he should!!) and they will fix it for free (by right they should!!)... : )

Merdeka

Esok 31 Ogos, hari merdeka...

hari merdeka pada keluarga win ada maksud baru sebab arwah mak tok, ibu mak win tenat & meninggal sehari sebelum hari merdeka 2001. tok seorang yang sangat "considerate"... dalam nak pergi pun dia pergi dekat dengan hari cuti jadik anak2 dan cucu2 senang nak balik kampung.

dulu bila orang kata dia ada ayah, ibu, anak... tok yang PALING dot dot dot, win tengok sinis kat diaorg. macamana diaorang tau diaorang punya tu yang PALING dot dot!!...diaorang tak boleh pakai perkataan PALING.

tapi win paham, tu semua subjektif... sebab kita sayang dan hargai seseorang tu. dan utk win, tok PALING "best", arwah mak tok... yang PALING baik, PALING bersabar, PALING penyayang... rindu kan tok dan doa cucu nie sentiasa utk tok.

berjalan lagi

asyik-asyik pi jalan, asyik-asyik pi jalan.

hujung minggu nie kat US cuti hari buruh. cuti hujung minggu jadik panjang satu hari sebab hari buruh hari isnin. perancangan asalnye ada kawan2 nak datang melawat kami kat kampung waterloo nie, tapi masa kami di Peoria 2 minggu lepas rancangan berkhemah dan "whitewater rafting" timbul.

mula2 win tegas kata tak... mana boleh orang nak datang melawat dan win dah ajak datang pas tu kita suruh tak datang. chot pun cakap yang sama tapi lepas pikir dan pikir dan pikir, win sedar yang sekarang kitaorang masih senang nak berjalan... mana la tau tahun depan, mungkin tak boleh.

jadik win cerita kat chot apa yang win pikir, dia pun dengan pantasnye kata dia dah lama pikir macam tu... bila lagi kalau bukan sekarang. tahun depan kita tak tau apa yang bakal jadik, pas tu kawan2 yang lain kut tak se "free"... nanti menyesal. RUPA- RUPANYE DIA MEMANG NAK PERGI, DIA KATA DIA TAK MAU PI SEBAB WIN "INSISTED" KITA DUDUK WATERLOO UTK TERIMA TETAMU. chot nie ada kebolehan goreng baik punye.

berjalan lagi...

Kansas City Aqiqah Pictures

ameer's aqiqah went well. although he was very fussy on the days leading up to the event, like a good boy he behaved himself as he was passed around.

emmy's parents came to help her adjust to motherhood and were there cooking up a storm. makcik is really friendly and outgoing but pakcik is a bit on the quiet side. they reminded me of my own parents : )... my mom could really talk up a storm and my dad could really end conversations.

here are pictures of our Kansas City trip. Click
here.

uh u guys??? is the sheep smirking??...

"bheeekkkk" the sheep said. "this is my fate... my dear mother warned me of this possibility and it's actually happening". and in his final moment as the knife sliced into his flesh he smirked, forever freezing the expression on his face.

the hike up was damn tiring. chot & i never felf this tired in our whole life and swore we'd never do it again. then we reached the camp site and got a little rest, we felt a bit better and swore we'd only go again if it'd be a shorter hike or a day hike. and now after close to 2 months since... noooOPE, never again... not this trail. but ask me again in 6 months : )

wednesday

we got back into town later than we usually do, close to midnight!!! usually we'll make our move earlier so we don't end up driving in the dark. quite a challenge to stay awake when it's pitch black all around. plus cars with headlight are very annoying.

it's already wednesday huh??... how time flies... chot wanted to mow the lawn yesterday but since he's still tiling the kitchen backsplash i said i'd do it. BUT went to bed late last night and proceeded to wake up at 11 am. it's too hot outside to do it now. i reckon chot will do it after he comes home from work... that is after he cut the 2 last tiles to size.

ahhh... the life of a slacker housewife with a too good of a husband who doesn't demand. cik win slacker slack slack!!! feels crummy when i answer chot's "what did u do today?" question with a very short2 list... usually i don't even try to think of the stuff i did, i'd just say i did nothing.

NOW, i need to address a little issue that arose from my last post. i have to say i've made my friend bee (we stayed at her place last weekend) feel bad for not preparing meals for guests. and ellie meticulously planned out our expenditure if we'd visit her in Omaha... just pay gas and the rest is on her.

u guys and future friends we'll stay with in the future, this is for u guys... don't worry about it. i'm neurotic nowadays where money is concerned but the worry isn't warranted really. the reality is we are in a bit of a squeeze but not to the point of sorrow. it would be nice when we can get the nilai house sold and when my medical bills is paid off but we're managing fine. and when we come to visit, any meal option is fine and we definately do not want our meals paid for... no... no... no...

moving on... i'm still uploading pics of rocky mountain. and tons of other pics too, so a bit of a wait until that gets done. nonetheless, i'd like to end this post with the latest picture of adam and me... us and our squarer faces : )

salam hello

i'm thinking in english today, no... not because i sound stupid conversing in malay or prefer english over my mother tongue. i value my bahasa melayu and i think i'm fairly good in my grasp of both languages (ehm... ehm... BM SPM A1 i kid u not). and bahasa melayu is the language i'll teach my kids if ever i'll have any because they'll pick up english when they walk out the front door.

i think i'll try to write in english AND malay but not both at the same time. and today i feel english : )...

i've been so very quiet, at first i didn't think anything of it but then friends started calling and asking if i was well. since they didn't see any activity on my blog, they wondered. and a few days ago, my old buddy bai emailed me from malaysia... an alarmed sounding emailed asking if i was doing OK, if anything bad had happen because another old friend in Omaha (yes u kak ellie) asked her to call up my in-laws in gombak. now why didn't ellie just called or emailed me herself??... why because i was being a bad friend of course... my laziness overtaking my life. i was lazy pysically and mentally... lazy... lazy... lazy...

so that's it, i'm ok, we're ok... just plain old lazy...

anywhoooo... i'm writing today and i have a few more hours before chot gets home and off we will go to Peoria, the closest thing we have to a kampung here. Peoria is where chot went to college and where all of his friends and later they became my friends live. we enjoyed seeing and spending time with them and now with a lot of little ones there, we loved it even more.

but (there's always a "but" right??)... i am wrestling with myself inside to not worry too much about all the trips we make and all the expenses we incur from it. that's all i seemed to be about nowadays, worrying about money and afraid of being short. more now since we've started payments on our nilai house... and that's on top of everything else. i pity chot really, when i've become a bit of a dictator of "yes" or "no"...

the dictator said "no more trips after KC, not until december"... but really, do we really want to spend another weekend in this town with nothing to do. i mean, with nothing we like to do.

and the dictator said "we'll go to Peoria but only if u finish tiling the kitchen backsplash"... but on the last evening he had to work on it, he ran out of tiles!!!. how convenient really... a good excuse because we didn't see how he can finish the work in time.

but we're going to Peoria regardless because (1) our minds are already there, looking forward to the trip (2) i was the one who made the boo boo because i was the one who counted the amount of tiles needed and then coming up short... heh heh...

so, a fine dictator i am huh??... seems like nothing i say sticks... and i'll start worrying about our expenses when i come back ; )...

tried uploading some pictures but something isn't working somewhere... later then. oh my gosh, chot's on his way home and i haven't pack... or shower... or edit this post...

Kansas City

esok lepas kerja kitaorg akan ke KC. KC dalam 5 1/2 jam dari waterloo sebab kawan kat sana nak buat aqiqah hari sabtu.

kenapa pi awal sangat?? sebab diaorg nak sembelih kambing sendiri dan mintak tolong chot lapah kambing. sebab tempat nak sembelih kambing tu tutup hari khamis, dan aqiqahnye hari sabtu, nak sembelih hari jumaat lambat sangat... dah nak sembelih, nak lapah... nak masak... jadiknye rabu pagi.

rabu pagi beberapa ekor kambing akan hilang nyawa mereka...

cerita pasal sembelih2 binatang nie, teringat kat arwah tok win. win ingat win jadik tukang pegang ayam dan tok tamat nyawa ayam2 tu. paling ingat ayam2 tu mengelupar & melompat keliling laman pada saat2 terakhirnya... innallillah... ; ) nanti win ambik gambar...

kepenatan & kepanasan

semalam jadik super(??) surirumah. berhempas-pulas buat kerja kat taman dari pukul 10 pagi sampai la ke pukul 2 ptg. basuh & sidai baju, masak daging panggang utk makan malam & kalau tu semua tak cukup, sempat selit buat kuih apam beras.

tidur lambat tengok tv. bangun pulak awal, cadangannye nak buat kerja taman lagi sebelum hujan tapi duduk kat sofa lepas tu tertidur. sedar2 dah pukul 2!!!... kita ingat kita handal, tapi badan tak handal.

dan jugak semalam, jadik tukang gunting rambut... bukan potong rambut chot tapi rambut sendiri!!! panas dan rimas & rambut jadik mangsa... tak membantu pun melegakan kepanasan, mungkin cuma menyenangkan kerja bila nak basuh.

nanti kalau rajin win tunguk imej baru. chot dah panggil solat lepas tu ke taman buat kerja... masuk jugak taman hari nie gamaknye. macam kena kerah kerja macam buruh mexico... warna kulit sama dah!!!...

keras bekerja

hujung minggu lepas, kitaorg kerjakan semak dekat sebelah depan (tak sudah lagi...). tahun lepas tak la nampak teruk sangat tapi tahun nie dah naik macam hutan. pas tu malu dan kesian kat jiran sebelah. bila diaorg bersantai kat deck (apa aaa dalam BM??) diaorg kena tengok semak samun. jadiknye kitaorg membuat la kerja2 mencabut, mengorek dan membuang.

dalam semak tu jumpa la pulak bunga lily nie. lawa kan??... kalau tak kemas, tak tau kewujudan nye. harum semerbak ruang tamu win.

jumpa jugak hostas dalam semak tu. kitaorg tanam balik kat sekeliling pokok2. tahun lepas kitaorg buang banyak pokok nie. win tak suka, tapikan sebenarnye, tak la buruk mana hostas2 nie. dulu win kata win tak suka, tahun nie tak la pokok kesukaan... cuma sayang nak pi buang2 macam tu jek... pokok tak lawa pun nak hidup jugak : )...

eeerrrr... alamak, dah buat diri sendiri rasa bersalah la. sebab banyak pokok tak lawa jenis2 lain dah selamat masuk tong.

Rocky Trip - Estes Park

the only picture we took in Estes park is of Adam as we were walking off a big lunch. Estes Park is at a lower elevation than Grand Lake about 7000 plus. but it's a bigger town with more tourist trap type stores.

when jept and anis were here last, they found this Nepal restaurant. i guess since nepal is in between india and china, their food reflects their neighboring countries. this restaurant is basically an indian restaurant but they do have some dumplings in their menu. i think there are aunthentic nepal dishes out there but either the owner wanted to cater to the masses or them themselves came from a town closer to the indian side... i dunno... but the food was sure good. we decided to go there again after turun gunung.

we did some laundry at the motel... in between trips to the laundry room, chot came into the room and grabbed the camera. "ada moose kat seberang jalan la" he said... so being jakun osso, i slipped on my footwear and ran after him. we saw moose... click here for pics. there are the female kind, so takde with big horns (do i still call them horns??)... or is it that the horns fell off in the off season?? (i mean non-mating season... do they sprout and lose horns ever??... i totally don't know...)

later in the evening, we proceded to stuff our bags with clothes, camping gear and food.

Rocky Trip- Grand lake and going over the mountains again!!!

we got to Grand Lake and had a late lunch. later in the evening, chot and i pusing2 town. it's a small cowboy town, meaning, ada satu main street. wasn't that bad of a walk. we went out to get me some hot tea, rasa lega sikit tekak... plus, hot tea taste way better then cough syrup and cough drops...

why is the place called Grand Lake??... why because there a lake there silly. we went to the lake that day and again the next morning with the whole group. and after, went to a waterfall nearby, i'm not sure of the name, Adam's Falls or John's Falls... something like that.

at this point, i should tell about chot and his facination with water. he will always be drawn to any body of water. waterfalls and stream and lakes... even chlorinated pool water is good enough for him. but no sea water though... so bear with all the pictures of waterfalls and streams and all of that nature. click here for pics.

we went over the mountains to get to Estes Park, that's where we stayed the second night. used the same route we took the day before.

on our way up, there were people slowing down and stopping by the side of the road. that could only mean that wildlife were spotted. and true enough, on the sheer rock face, there were a family of bighorn sheeps... i got this piece of info from a magnet i bought. it says...

Bighorn Sheep
Both sexes have horns.
The ram's horns are much larger and may form a complete circle.
The horns can weigh up to 30 lbs, 1/10th of the animal's body weight.

the ones we saw with horns, didn't have a complete circle yet... click here for pics.

we stopped at the highest point on the route, the Alpine Tourist Center. it was really cold and windy, and then it started to rain. it was such an experience, how wonder and amazing, masyaallah ciptaan Allah.

now, there is a short hike of about 300 feet from the tourist center to a top of a hill. i wanted to climb up and be at the highest point on that route but i didn't. the dry, warmth and comfort of the van was more appealing. but chot and jept went all the way up. click here for pics.

Rocky Trip- Arriving and going up and over the mountain

the first and second nights there were spend sleeping in proper beds. the first town we stayed in was Grand Lake, elevation 8000 plus feet above sea level. Grand Lake is on the other side of the mountains so up and over the mountains we went. there is another road going to Grand Lake, a (somewhat) flatter road i assume that went around the (somewhat) base of some of the less hilly parts of the rockies... but we took the scenic route... tourist la katakan.

they did warn people of altitude sickness coz we started from the tourist center at around 6000 or 7000 feet up to 11000 plus feet at the highest point. and then made our way down to Grand Lake. i didn't get dizzy, just a little out of breath. chot and i both tak puas bila tarik nafas.

as we got higher, it started to rain. it was so cool to be that high up and see the dark clouds moving and the rain falling. click here for pics. oh yes, there's also a shot of wildlife grazing.

it is also a classic trait of us to always be sick. i was getting sore throat and it developed into coughing and hunks of phlegm. dari pergi sampai la balik balik waterloo, i was coughing... and chot experienced sinus pressure... from being high up in the mountains i guess.

Rocky Trip- Going and getting there

i didn't know how to approach the rocky trip. nak cerita ikut hari ke, nak cerita ikut topics ke??? and all the pictures...

well here goes... we left waterloo saturday around 6:30 pm. the day before, we not only got jept, anis and adam as tetamu but also 5 other peoria friends staying over/ first visit to our "new" old house. the 5 of them were on their way to Minneapolis. they slept here in waterloo and watched world cup with us. very rarely do chot & i get guests and we had such a good time.

saturday morning was spend in front of the tv... what a dissapoitnment bila brazil kalah... apa la diaorg main serabai macam tu. and ronaldinhio didn't score any goals... with brazil out of the games, i choose to cheer for france!!!... VIVA LE FRANCE... (betul ke??...sorry i don't know french...)

ok, dah terpesong... rocky mountain trip... right... we stopped at this rest area somewhere in nebraska (ke dah masuk colorado??) to pray subuh and took the first pics of the trip. me and adam!!!... semestinya!!!...

the landscape is a flat one. but as we got closer to the rockies, mountains appear, saw mountains with snow caps. the road we took cuts through rocky hills... got into the national park and parked at the tourist center/ ranger office to register and get and pay for permit to camp at Fern Lake. Click here for pics.

Up the rocky mountain they will go

i'd better post this as an intro before we go take a long (time wise and distance wise) trip to Colorado. an 8 day trip from july 1st to the 8th. here's how the plan is laid out.

our outdoors man, woman and child friend... a.k.a jept, anis and baby adam will drive from Peoria to our place friday june 30th. the 3 of them plus the 2 of us will leave for Colorado (a 12 hour trip) saturday evening after all world cup matches have been viewed. Brazil lawan France tuuuu, tak boleh miss... bila la ronaldinho nie nak score gol.

upon reaching destination, we'll go around doing tourist stuff. then a 3.8 mile hike up the rocky mountain to the campsite. 3 nights and 2 days roughin' it in the american wilderness. more walking from campsite to interesting spots. nature uuuhhh and aaahhh, snap-snap pics of every critter, rock and plant. cooking and sleeping under the moonlight... that kind of thing.

this kind of trip is the first for chot and i. we've gone to a few campings of the "park your car nearby, proper bathroom provided" kind. but this "haul your own food, tent, sleeping bag on own back and "going" in the bushes" kind is a bit (okay a lot) different.

i worry about the "going" in the bushes part. i don't think i can and chot also expressed the same worry. i mean no.1 ok la, no.2... eerrmmm... NO. so we will berusaha to keep it alllll in until we reach civilization.

another worry is of bears. i hope none come to visit our campsite... maybe baby adam's pile of dirty diapers (we have to bring all non-biodegrabable items back down with us) will deter any bears from coming close.

so i wish us luck... "GOOD LUCK".

The Cake

as promised, i'm sharing pictures of the (so-so looking) Father's Day cake. these are all the pictures i took, i was so into making... (errmm worrying of failing is more like it) that i forgot to take more pics.

after baking, removing the cake "bump"... an important step because i wanted to stack another layer.
leftover... chocolate stash for the coming week.the chocolate ganache. it is essentially heavy cream and chocolate. the recipe asks for heavy cream but i can only find heavy whipping cream. i guess it's the same thing. and since i wanted to whip this chocolatey goodness up into a lighter texture, it didn't make me worry. the end product. the writing on the cake... my 3rd try. all in all, boleh laaa... the taste??... i guess it could taste better, but it didn't taste bad... plus, we all ate it with vanilla ice cream... cake and ice cream, a combination that will always work... always...
i was suppose to bring the cake to the
saturday farewell picnic but we all came up with a better plan. since all of us were meeting up again on sunday for world cup viewing and nasi lemak eating, the cake will be consumed sunday. since sunday is father's day and since sunday get together is indoors and since i didn't want the ganache to melt... and since... and since...

that's it. the story of the cake.

bake a cake

this saturday, there's a farewell picnic of sorts for Vivi and family (they're regular makan2 get together buddies) moving from Peoria to N. Carolina. i offered to bake a father's day cake since this weekend is a father's day weekend.

the plan is chocolate cake, and i am going to... yes, bake the cake but most importantly

1) attempt making... and
2) applying ganache frosting. AND
3) try very hard to make the writings on the cake look decent.

why ganache frosting u ask??... well once i watched alton brown on good eats made some and he used the word "easy". also, i have cooking chocolate sitting pretty and doing nothing in the pantry (it's the unsweetened variety, not fit for consumption unless altered in form and taste. this contributed to it's long existence in le' pantry). so, combining "easy" and availability, i've decided on ganache...

; )... as soon as i peel myself from this computer, i'll go do cake/ grocery shopping : )...

pictures will follow later...

a quick one

have tons to do so a quick post... i want to post a picture of the first rose of the year. likey likey. most of the roses we planted are hibrid tea roses. they are of the long-stemmed variety. saje jek, rasa macam cool coz that's what amoi2 kat cameron highlands jual... : )...

reminded me of the time i accompanied cikgu bai dan cikgu zt and cikgu shah pi cameron highlands. we took a bus full of form 1 kids ( i think)... the trip up wasn't as bad but the trip down... masyaallah, torture!!!... some puked and i was questioning the usang college bus's breaking capability when we were roller coaster-ing our way down those slopes... torture...

and the kids were buying roses, like a lot of roses... even the boys got into the action... i don't blame them when us grown ups were also feverish buying...

but alas, halfway down the mountain all roses wilted. when we got to gerik, they were wrinkly. some optimistic students (and teachers) placed roses in buckets of water and as i walked to class the next day i saw sorry looking roses dalam timba aligning the hostel corridor...

Eye Candy

i woke up and headed straight to te computer to check my email. got this forwarded one from a friend and decided to post it on my blog. usually saturday mornings i'd be busy preparing something special for breakfast but chot is out since 7.45. dia pi menembak... and if doesn't get home in 30 minutes... i'm gonna have breakfast without him...

the title of the email is "THIS GUY IS FROM INDIA AND HE IS THE WINNER OF THE MOST GOOD LOOKING GUY IN THE WORLD".

peerrrggghhhh...

i wonder if he's gay??...

and speaking of gay-ness. we were at the mall a couple of weeks back and this middle aged guy was walking towards us. he was wearing shorts and a sleeveless t-shirt, he's bald and tan and very fit. has one of those mustaches like the village people... so naturally, my first thought was "oh misai dia macam orang village people la" and as i was looking at him, i caught him looking at chot, from top to bottom i tell ya!!!... reallllyy checking my hubby out...

i told chot in malay "orang tu gay, dia tengok u dari atas sampai bawah"... and then i was bothered for the following couple of days... i guess it doesn't matter if a she or a he looks at my spouse with ideas of hooking up... anyone looking at my hubby like that, makes me a bit pissed...

hehheh... my chot is my chot is my chot...

How exciting... the World Cup is starting

the first game is currently playing on t.v (Germany vs. Costa Rica)...

we're recording it so later when chot gets home from work, we can watch it together. for this month, we've upgraded our cable services to include the DVR service. DVR stands for Digital Video Recording. It'a like VCR but much2 better. With DVR, we can record up to 80 hours of programming, watch any of them whenever we like. Aside from pausing and rewinding the program we've recorded (duhh??...) we can even pause live programming... LIVE PROGRAMMING. and replay critical moments... very useful in this world cup season, now that's gold : )...

and, i think (always did, always will...) that angelina jolie is some kind of beautiful... gorgeous... sensuous : )... see, when we put in the DVR unit, we temporarily got all movie channels. they were showing Mr. and Mrs. Smith... man... she's soooo cantik.

of dirt, rocks, wood and blooms

the planter is 98% complete. i somewhat feel it could look better... i.e use all railroad timber all around but that would mean prolonging the process, hauling big chunks of rocks over long distances and spending more on materials. it's ok... i'll plant something that will overtime cover that rock face. click here for pictures.

also to report, my first rose of the season is blooming. the story of these roses is that in our excitement buying and planting them last year, we made a little boo-boo... so 3 of the hibrid tea roses didn't come back. i was about to toss the whole roses idea out the window but instead replaced/ put in new ones. hopefully they'll grow nice and give me nice blooms.

6.6.6

was yesterday.. i told myself i will write something on this memorable date. but i didn't... am totally unmotivated.

so here i am a day later... the next row of sixes will be another 1000 years 6.6.3006... errmmm waitsaminute, there will be 6.6.2066. apa2 pun in both cases i'll definately already be in the ground.

the movie "The Omen", a remake of the old one premiered on 6.6.2006, very fitting indeed. all day yesterday on t.v, the programs had a similar theme... the anti-christ, satan, exorcism... stuff like that.

but then i went and read the malaysian online newspapers and it was a 180 degree take on the date. it's a good date for the chinese, a good date to get married... and if one could manage, a good date for your baby to be born on...

it's not in our culture as malays to interpret or associate negatives or positives for certain dates. but some will choose nice combination of numbers for weddings... chot suggested 7.7.2007 to my sis if she is looking for a wedding date... but unless it's on a weekend or a school holiday, it won't work as a wedding date.

that's it...

we went on a date

yesterday we went for a movie date. haven't seen a movie at the cinema for the longest time. being in a dark room with flashing lights gives me a massive headache... a recent fenomena... i blame the lupron 100% : )...

so a few hours before we went, i took eleve (macam panadol) as a precaution. i wasn't about to walk out in a middle of the showing with a head that's about to burst... besides, it a movie i wanted to see.

it was the latest (and last) X-men movie and i quite enjoyed it. i read that it got a lot of bad reviews. most probably from the comic book fanatics or those with so high expectations... ye la kan, it being the last in the trilogy they kot wanted it end with lots and lots of umphh!!!...

i won't divulge specific details but it sucks to see some good guys die... it's a shame and still a bit bothered... wtf win??... they're just characters!!!... this must be influences of chot and his anime...

++++

today's friday and we plan to continue rebuilding the planter (another planter...). this one is located behind the house. the back wall is low and the glass is creeping into it. chot bought railway timber (huge 6"x8"x8') a month or so ago and we just started the work a couple of weeks back... it's progressing veeerryyy slow... like everything with us, more rehat dari kerja...

i want to put a picture of before we did anything to it but something is wrong somewhere, preventing me from doing so... later then.

i wanted to use it to grow vegetables/ food stuff but chot is not budging from his plans of stuffing it with flowers. he said that vegetables belongs way back at the end of the property... ok la, i don't care, his plans is ok osso...

with the beginning of the sunny season and working outside, we are slowly getting dark. we don't use sunscreen coz they give me rashes, and chot doesn't use them because he refuses to put any lotion like stuff on his skin. he is getting darker faster due to longer time spend outside (he mows the lawn and plays football... i mean soccer).

hassan, his kulit putih bosnian friend remarked of the "tan" chot has, at which point chot answered "this is my natural skin color man, it's just turning back to normal". hassan said "cool"... here, fair skinned mat sallehs want to be tan... and people in malaysia/ asia in general wants to be fair (what's that one face cream product kat malaysia??... "fair and lovely"??...) macam- macam...

so happy weekend then... may it be a good and enjoyable one.
