Rocky Trip- Arriving and going up and over the mountain

the first and second nights there were spend sleeping in proper beds. the first town we stayed in was Grand Lake, elevation 8000 plus feet above sea level. Grand Lake is on the other side of the mountains so up and over the mountains we went. there is another road going to Grand Lake, a (somewhat) flatter road i assume that went around the (somewhat) base of some of the less hilly parts of the rockies... but we took the scenic route... tourist la katakan.

they did warn people of altitude sickness coz we started from the tourist center at around 6000 or 7000 feet up to 11000 plus feet at the highest point. and then made our way down to Grand Lake. i didn't get dizzy, just a little out of breath. chot and i both tak puas bila tarik nafas.

as we got higher, it started to rain. it was so cool to be that high up and see the dark clouds moving and the rain falling. click here for pics. oh yes, there's also a shot of wildlife grazing.

it is also a classic trait of us to always be sick. i was getting sore throat and it developed into coughing and hunks of phlegm. dari pergi sampai la balik balik waterloo, i was coughing... and chot experienced sinus pressure... from being high up in the mountains i guess.
